Pastor Pete, the son of Pete and Lynse Pawelek, grew up right here in Atascosa County. As a young boy, Pete worked on his father's farm and ranch with his brothers and cousins, learning his way around Brahma, Simbrah, and Simmental cattle. Pastor Pete has also shoveled his fair share of hog manure, as well as learning his way around a John Deer tractor at a young age, plowing, planting, cultivating, and harvesting corn, milo, oats, and wheat.
Upon graduating high school in 1998, Pete went to Texas State University, pursuing a degree in Ag Education. During the summer of 1999, God changed his plans by calling him into the ministry. Pete graduated college in 2001 with a Bachelors of Communication and a minor in Religion . He then served as a collegiate minister for 2 years before being called back home to help start Cowboy Fellowship in 2003. While working full time at Cowboy Fellowship, Pete earned a Masters degree from B.H. Carroll Theological. As a part of his M.Div degree he also studied the biblical languages of Greek and Hebrew. During this time Pete founded Operation H2O, a mission organization in Africa dedicated to providing clean, safe water to the children of East Africa.Pete serves on various advisory boards and often speaks at churches and conferences as a part of his ministry.
On his day’s off Pete enjoys riding horses, helping out on his father’s ranch, flying airplanes, and spending time with his family. He married his wife Abby in May of 2005. Peter Isaac joined their family in May of 2008 and Hadley Christine arrived in July of 2010.
Pete says, "the last thing in the world I thought I would ever be was a Pastor, and the last place in the world I thought I would ever pastor was in Atascosa County. I suppose if God can use me, he can use anyone!" Pastor Pete's no nonsense, straight to the point messages do just that; they inspire others to let God use them.

His favorite passage of scripture can be found in Mark chapter 2 where it speaks of the men bringing the paralyzed man to the house where Jesus was teaching. "Because it was so crowded they could not get in the door, they cut a hole in the roof and lowered the man on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, "Son, your sins are forgiven." I love it because they recognized their friend has spiritual value, and the roof didn’t.
Adam Shelburne joined us in January 2010 and came from the Dallas area. He is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and Southwestern Seminary. He is the youngest of 3 children and is the proud uncle of his niece, Caroline. Adam enjoys collecting Mr. Potato Heads and Mickey Mouse memorabilia. He also likes to sing, play the piano, and spend time with his family. What he loves most about being at Cowboy Fellowship is the opportunity to partner with parents in leading their children to love and follow Christ. Adam's favorite scripture is:
Psalm 105:4 ~ "Look to the Lord and His strength. Seek His face always."

Renae has been married for 26 years to David McDaniel. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren and live in McCoy. Renae has been with Cowboy Fellowship since August of 2003. She is the office manager and has various duties. She feels that she has been blessed with such a wonderful ministry and enjoys what she does.
One of her favorite verses is: Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
....There is no guarantee that if we had done a part of our lives differently things would end up any different. We have to trust the God of the universe who directs the outcome of all things that he will do that which ultimately needs to be done (in spite of us, if necessary).
Sue and her husband Mike have lived and worked in the Pleasanton area since 1997. Originally from the small town of New Boston in NE Texas, after they married in 1996, they moved here to be close to Mike's children. They run a successful remodeling business and also build wooden storage buildings. Sue said that she prayed for a position that would allow her to help people and serve God as well. Sue has been with Cowboy Fellowship since May of 2005. She said that this job is a blessing from God and that she hopes to be here for many years and grow in her relationship with the Lord. Sue & Mike have 4 children and 5 grandchildren, Nicholas is 9, Brady who is 7, Hunter is 2 1/2 years, Kielee is 2 1/2 years, and Aaralyn is 18 months old. Sue likes to "cruise" (dance) in the kitchen to the oldies with her babies, camp, fish, swim, tube the local rivers with her daughters, cook, and write. Sue says that she feels closest to God when she is standing on a beach looking out over the vast expanse of the ocean. She said the ocean personifies God's strength, power, and awesome beauty. Her favorite bible verse is Hebrews 13:2 - Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have entertained angels unawares.
